"It just doesn't cut it anymore. It used to be my favorite, but now its quality has deteriorated a lot. Both the quantity and quality are poor. The onsen egg is bad. The salad is even worse, with ranch dressing instead of Japanese. They no longer provide chili pepper flakes; instead, they gave me chili powder—the kind used for cooking! And it's not cheap. Compared to Sukiya at Suntec, you lose."

The serving portion is so bad. I ordered a salmon combo, and the salmon only had two small pieces, or two small slices. The portion size was so small. Malay people were doing the serving. You know it's a small portion for an adult. Does your mom cook you such a small portion? Do you know how small the serving was? $12! It should be worth only $7! It's so small and stingy! Even when I saw it upfront, the portion was very small for adults or even children, and it was so expensive! You can't tell from my photo, but the salmon pieces were so small! I used to get three round pieces of salmon, but now it's two pieces and more expensive. How can this be?
Yoshinoya isn't usually stingy, okay? The serving portion is small. Come to think of it, it wasn't even two pieces because they cut them in half. How expensive is that when you buy in bulk? How expensive is that? A price increase shouldn't be so ridiculous, right? Not even two pieces; it's only considered one piece because they sliced it in half. The other salmon was also very thinly sliced. Small portion, hello! Now I don't even know if I want to buy it or not. Are the vegetables $5 like that? You do business, not grocery shopping for individual packets. Your price must match the servings. Everything shrinking isn't right, really.
Yoshinoya is a Japanese brand; how can it be like this? I know Yoshinoya's servings are usually accurate, but this one I really don't understand. $12? No. For $12, a salad has a lot of options. The plate was nice, everything looked fine, but the serving... wow. I finished eating and I'm still not satisfied. I'm just not satisfied.

It was my first visit to Bedok Mall, and I was served by an extraordinary staff member named Junen. He is such a great staff member; he was very patient attending to my queries. Though he was alone at that moment, he served with a full smile and professionally. I will definitely visit again. Junen deserves to be praised.

The food quality and service of this Yoshinoya branch are good for a fast-food restaurant. The food is consistently of good quality. The service is adequate, considering they do not have many employees, and the outlet is spacious with many seats.
I frequent this branch and even order food delivery from here. I've never had any problems and always return for good, consistent beef bowls.

It took them a long while to convert their restaurant into a MUIS halal-certified one. I guess it’s a good thing they did, as it will likely boost their sales with more Muslims and consumers from the middle to lower-income group (and anyone who’s very frugal with their spending) patronizing their stalls.
The price range is quite average, but they are still far behind their strong competitor, Sukiya. I'm still grateful to have the option for a halal beef bowl in the Bedok central area, though.
Taste-wise, I would think it’s less flavorful than Sukiya (beef gyudon; they also gave less beef 😞), but perhaps this is isolated to this outlet. The chicken karaage curry rice was okay. Their regular portion would be just right for people who don’t usually eat much for lunch. We also had a small bowl of miso soup, though we weren't sure which set meal it came from. The hot tea (Ito En) is served in a small teacup. I didn't ask if I could refill the hot water, but at $2 a cup, it’s quite pricey.
I would give them 4.5 stars to be fair. Their service was quite good and fast. Lots of space was available for diners even during lunchtime hours (around 1pm on Sunday). The restaurant feels more like a fast-food chain instead when compared to the setting of Sukiya’s interior, which feels more like dining in a Japanese beef bowl eatery.
